Nestled away in a Highlands Ranch suburb, Arrowwood Elementary seems like your everyday neighborhood school. However, the Arrowwood Grizzlies are so much more! Founded in 2000, Arrowwood opened the doors to an educational experience with the goal of changing every child's life and inspiring them to make a positive difference in the world they will inherit.

Our mission is to create a safe environment where all our students learn and grow academically, socially, and emotionally at high levels because of our collaborative professional learning community.

Points of Pride

2022 recipient of the Governor's Distinguished Improvement Award

This award is given to schools that demonstrate exceptional student growth. On the Colorado School Performance Framework, these schools "exceed" expectations on the indicator related to longitudinal academic growth.

2022 recipient of the John Irwin Schools of Excellence Award

This award is given to schools that demonstrate exceptional academic achievement over time. These schools received an "Exceeds Expectations" rating on exceptional performance in Math, English Language Arts, and Science.

The lack of English language skills shall not be a barrier to admission or participation in the district's activities and programs. South High Public Schools also does not discriminate in its hiring or employment practices.

NOTICE OF DESTRUCTION OF SPECIAL EDUCATION RECORDS

Special Education records which have been collected by Douglas County School District related to the identification, evaluation, educational placement, or the provision of special education in the district, must be maintained under state and federal laws for the period of five (5) years after special education services have ended for the student. Special education services end when the student is no longer eligible for services, graduates, or completes his/her educational program at age 21, or moves from the district. This notification is to inform parents/guardians and former students of Douglas County School District's intent to destroy the special education records of students who exited special education services as of June 30, 2016. These records will be destroyed in accordance with state law unless the parent/guardian or eligible (adult) student notifies the school district otherwise. After five years, the records are no longer useful to the district, but may be useful to the parent/guardian or former student in applying for social security benefits, rehabilitation services, college entrance, etc. The parent/guardian or eligible (adult) student may request a copy of the records by requesting the records by email to [email protected].
